Overview and Responsibilities

Your role


The VP Creative and Marketing is the critical link between the business strategy and challenges, and the creative articulation of the brand in the face of these strategy and challenges.

To work with the VP, General Manager to develop our creative vision and strategy for the Nickelodeon portfolio of Channels and then to lead the effort at executing that vision both on-air and off-air.

To develop strategic, commercially driven marketing/on-air objectives that further the Nickelodeon Channels.

Develop and manage a strong team of creatives and marketeers who are on board with the channels’ vision, brand and strategy.

Work closely with the VP, Programming to develop a strong promotional strategy for the Nickelodeon brand and other potential cross-promotional partners (i.e. Paramount Comedy and Milkshake).

Identify areas of opportunity within the market that will further both brand and revenue objectives.


Your accountability


Strategically interpreted creative and media needs to meet the channel and audience needs

Develop and execute creative concepts that are experimental, pioneering, innovative and fresh

To champion marketing integration and maximise cross-promotional opportunities

Develop and execute commercially based content activity

Develop a cohesive and aligned Marketing & Promotions strategy

Key editorial and strategic voice on Nick UK SMT to assist in driving the Nickelodeon business forward

Overall marketing, creative and original production budget responsibility

Maximise cross-promotional opportunities via strategic media partnerships and commercial relationships

Identify and exploit key marketing properties

Lead the department, with overall responsibility for creative output, media campaigns, resource, process and team performance and development:


Oversee creative output of the department ensuring all content is on brand and delivering creative excellence across all platforms


Oversee personal development and training of the team, including responsible for PDR review process


Recruit new, exciting and creatively capable individuals to any open positions and freelance opportunities


You will have experience of


Experienced television creative

Executive producing and live TV experience

Strong leadership skills and proven track record of managing large teams within a matrix organisation

Ability to lead, inspire and motivate and large team

Proven track record in identifying, developing, and executing creative initiatives

Broad & extensive understanding of the media landscape

Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential, including the preparation and presentation of business plans for the senior management team

An ability to assess opportunities and prioritise those with the highest impact and achievability

Experience of large budget management

High work ethic and collaborative approach to a team environment

The ability to act as brand champion

Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to share these with the wider team

Highly motivated and proactive

Strong vision but open to collaboration

An ability to build and manage strong relationships both internally and externally

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Experience working as part of a senior leadership team with proven experience of effectively contributing ideas and participating in strategic conversations

Highly collaborative team leader/player; comfortable with ambiguity and with leading in a matrix organisation

Strong leadership skills

Commercially focused, with the ability to act as a business partner with Creative and other internal departments

Assertive and able to achieve desired results
